Google Sick Leave Policy
This Google Sick Leave Policy (“Policy”) is issued to Adecco Associates on assignment with Google. Employees, regardless of their immigration status, cannot be discriminated or retaliated against for requesting or using accrued paid sick leave. Adecco reserves the right to amend or revoke this Policy without notice, as allowed by applicable law.
Purpose
The Policy is designed to allow Adecco Associates to take time off to care for themselves or a family member for medical or emergency reasons. Associates in Maine, Nevada or Bernalillo County, CA may use time under this Policy for any reason.
Eligibility
All full and part time Adecco Associates on assignment with Google in any U.S. location are eligible to participate in this Policy. Eligible Associates begin accruing sick leave on September 1, 2020 or first day of assignment, whichever is later.
Policy Details
Sick time under this Policy is hours accrued by the Associate, which is compensated at the same hourly rate as the Associate normally earns during hours worked.
This Policy replaces any city, county or state paid sick leave plan to which the Associate was otherwise entitled; however, accrued but unused paid sick leave from a city, county or state paid sick leave plan (i.e. ‘available hours’) is still available for use until accrued time is exhausted.
Policy Details
Eligible Associates will be enrolled in the Google 64 Plan unless working in any of the locations listed in the table below.
* Carry Over – hours of available paid sick leave that will be carried over to the following payroll calendar year ** Google 72 – Work location in San Francisco, Berkeley, Emeryville, San Diego, Los Angeles
Annual accrual and usage is based on the payroll calendar year. The maximum accrual and usage of sick leave is based upon the Policy details. For example, the 2020 payroll calendar year runs 12/23/2019 - 12/20/2020. Sick Leave used on 12/27/2019 will be paid in 2020 and deducted from the 2020 Sick Leave balance. The 2021 payroll calendar year runs: 12/21/2020 - 12/19/2021.
